Since the new leasing standard (ACS 842) was issued in 2016, Connor Group has been assisting companies with implementing and applying the standard and educating accounting professionals across the country on its accounting impacts. Connor Group will once again partner with Accounting Conferences & Seminars (ACS) to deliver a three-hour case study at ACS’ upcoming “Accounting for Leases: New Rules 2019” seminar. The two-day seminar, runs from August 20th and 21st in Los Angeles, CA and will look at the new leasing guidance under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
On day two of the seminar, Connor Group’s Dom Kerr and Caroline Yan will lead participants through an in-depth case study to demonstrate the step-by-step application of the new ASC 842 framework to an operating lease. The case study covers key lease accounting concepts such as lease commencement date, lease term, lease payments, and incremental borrowing rate, and allows participants to practice calculating right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, and lease expense both at initial measurement and during a modification. Dom and Caroline will also share observations from 10-Q lease disclosures, practical application issues, and evolving industry practices seen from ASC 842 client engagements.
Registration for the event can be found on the ACS’ website (Click here). For those that are unable to attend the seminar next week, Connor Group will be presenting the case at ACS’ next lease accounting seminar on October 17th and 18th in San Francisco, CA (Click here).
