Connor Group is excited to bring audiences a new webinar series exploring ASC lease accounting guidance. Whether you are looking for an update on recent developments in 2020 for accounting for leases under ASC 840/842 or want to take a deeper dive into understanding and applying the new guidance under ASC 842 in an interactive format, we have a session tailored to your specific needs. In our first session, on December 11th, our experts Dom Kerr and Allie Bresso will provide an overview of recent developments in lease accounting under both ASC 840 and ASC 842. The session will include both new and proposed accounting standards updates issued by the FASB in 2020 as well as the FASB Q&A released over the summer involving accounting for COVID-19 lease concessions. Partner, Technical Accounting
Dom is a Partner in Connor Group’s Technical Accounting Practice in the New York office. In this role, he provides guidance and leads client service engagements on a variety of technical accounting issues including leasing, debt and equity financing transactions, revenue recognition, business combinations, embedded derivatives, foreign currency, stock and employee compensation, and new accounting standard implementation. He is the leader of Connor Group’s thought leadership and client service roll out around the new leasing standard (ASC 842). Dom is also a member of the FASB Small Business Advisory Committee and is a developer and presenter of training classes for external and internal audiences and a presenter at accounting conferences.
Prior to joining Connor Group, Dom spent ten years at PwC, including two years as a technical accounting consultant in the Accounting Services Group of PwC’s National Office. While in the National Office, Dom consulted on a variety of technical accounting issues including leasing, debt and equity financing transactions, embedded derivatives, the statement of cash flows, foreign currency, and private company accounting alternatives. Before his time in the National Office, Dom was a member of PwC’s Private Company Services assurance practice serving private equity-backed enterprises, pre-IPO companies, and large closely-held businesses in a variety of industries. He managed all aspects of audit and attest engagements including technical accounting research, financial statement preparation, internal controls assessments, and process improvement analysis.
Dom is a Certified Public Accountant (New York & New Jersey). He graduated with distinction from Hofstra University with an MBA in Accounting and graduated with distinction from the State University of New York College at Geneseo with a BS in Business Administration.
Manager, Technical Accounting
Allie is a Manager in Connor Group’s National Quality Team in the New York City office. During her time at Connor Group, she has worked on various accounting assessments in complex transactions. She has developed in-depth technical knowledge of the new leasing standard, stock-based compensation, financing transactions, variable interest entities, inventory costing, and business combinations.
In addition to her involvement in various client engagements, Allie has actively participated in Connor Group’s ongoing communication process with FASB, developed training materials, and co-instructed internal trainings on various technical matters.
Prior to joining Connor Group, Allie worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers primarily with private companies in various industries including professional services, manufacturing, power and utilities, retail, and agriculture. Allie is a Certified Public Accountant (New York). She has a Master of Business Administration in Accountancy from Adelphi University in Long Island, NY.
Supervising Senior, Technical Accounting
Nicole is a Supervising Senior in Connor Group’s Technical Accounting and IPO Services practice. She brings her experience in assisting with financial statement preparation and reporting, audit preparation, and carve outs across various industries and multinational corporations. Nicole has focused in collaborating with her clients to assist in the adoptions of the new leasing standard, revenue standard, and other complex technical accounting transactions. Nicole is a Certified Public Accountant (New York) and holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from Hofstra University.
